Title: Health & Safety Manager
Reports to: Manufacturing Director
Based at: Brookhouse Mill, Holme Mill and Hemel Hempstead
Hours per week: 40 hours per week
Job purpose: The Health and Safety Manager will oversee and implement comprehensive safety programs to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and to promote a safe workplace environment for all employees. This role is crucial in preventing workplace accidents, ensuring employee wellbeing, and maintaining operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess all sites for compliance to ISO4500l and assist in creating a roadmap to attaining this.
- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with

- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of facilities to identify potential risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead investigations of any incidents or near-misses to ascertain cause and necessary improvements in safety protocols.
- Facilitate safety training programs and workshops for employees at all
- Maintain and update all necessary documentation related to health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with department heads to ensure a consistent approach to safety measures across the
- Act as the principal contact for all health and safety regulatory
- Monitor, evaluate, and enforce legislation changes in health and safety
- Prepare and present safety metrics and performance reports to senior management with escalation protocols.
- Conduct relevant H&S training using both external resources and own 'toolbox talks' & hazard walks

- A flexible approach to assist with other duties as required and if called upon during unsociable hours
Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor'sdegree in occupational health, Safety Management, or related field
- Internal auditor of ISO4500l
- Minimum 5 years of experience in health and safety management within a busy manufacturing environment.
- Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or
- Strong knowledge of safety legislation and regulatory
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational
